We work towards ensuring a life free from endometriosis for every woman.
Short info

Up to every tenth person who menstruates has endometriosis, but not everyone experiences symptoms.

Facts about endometrios

Do you have such severe menstrual pain that you can’t do what you normally do? Regular painkillers don’t help? It could be due to the condition Endometriosis, and then you need to seek help. With early treatment, the pain can subside and be prevented from getting worse. Contact a youth clinic, health center, school health services, or gynecologist. You should not have to endure a lot of pain.

What is endometriosis?

Endometriosis means that there are cells resembling the uterine lining outside the uterus. The most common places are the abdominal lining in the lower part of the abdomen, outside the uterus, the ovaries, or near the fallopian tubes, the bladder, the rectum, and the area between the vagina and the rectum. Up to every tenth person who menstruates has endometriosis, but not everyone experiences symptoms. You may have more symptoms than just menstrual pain. If you have endometriosis, you may experience more symptoms than severe menstrual pain.

Why does it hurt?

Your immune system reacts when there are cells resembling the uterine lining outside the uterus. This causes inflammation that can lead to pain.

Month for awareness of endometriosis

Every March, Endometriosis Awareness Month takes place worldwide, aiming to raise awareness and highlight the symptoms of this debilitating condition that affects an estimated 176 million individuals (people with uteruses) globally.

Endometriosis can have a devastating impact on the quality of life for those affected due to its painful symptoms and being the leading cause of infertility in women. Despite affecting 1 in 10 women, the average diagnosis can take up to 7 and a half years. With this unacceptably long diagnostic delay, the primary focus of the event is to increase awareness of endometriosis symptoms, aiming to ensure more women receive diagnosis and treatment earlier.
